i am a parent of a child that attends newcastle school my daughter has down syndrome & austium we are the other school that is to be merged we have no say, no support, and no one want’s our children no even ortho. our school is in the heart of newcastle but nobody knows we are there. All our young adults (youngest 14 to 18) have the worst of the worst we are the lost one’s we have no support from our local commuintity with 19 teenagers that strugle every day just to be happy. and as parents we struggle every day. a good day is you can keep to rutine within the minute, to get your 4-6 hours sleep a night and hope it’s agood day. the fact is our school is forgotten, they just want our school (prime land) we would love to have the support of any one to share some of the load but nothing we told nothing except lies and just wait this will be better not for us not for our children. our bus that take’s our teenager to sports, shopping, excursions, pick up because “they are not coping” from all and more needs money to run there is no support. it takes 3years for our p&c to raise $3000.00 to buy 3 computers need for our children in class (one a class). i wish someone would help our teachers are great but are bound by rules, our parents tire of the everyday life and fight to keep our children on track. i am just one and yes i am a mother of a child with disablities , i am the president of the p&c and the secretary of roam (bus commity) but i would like to choose what school i send my daughter to the best for her in which i did. but we where still forgotten NEWCASTLE SCHOOL “learning for life” crn of Laman st & Union st Newcastle this may maybe the last time you hear for us because noboby has any more energy to keep fighting a brick wall.
