John Maitland from Yessabah, near Kempsey, tops the Queen’s Birthday honours list for the lower mid north coast, being recognised as a Member in the Order of Australia.
He joins OAMs Tony Hanks from Port Macquarie, Lansdowne’s Nellie Williams, and former National Parks and Wildlife Ranger Mike Dodkin, who was awarded a Public Service Medal.
