Gold Coast police officer Gary Hamrey was back in uniform today for a service to honour animals in the armed forces.
The veteran officer was shot in the face late last month, while investigating an armed robbery at Arundel.
“Hopefully no one’s going to cut it off today like the last time I had a uniform on, but it’s good to have it back on.”
Sgt Hamrey hopes to be back at work next month.
