MINISTER SAYS RESTRICTIONS NOT UNFAIR

The state government says it won’t be changing curfew laws on Newcastle’s pubs and clubs.
A leaked Australian Hotels Association report, shown on NBN last night, claims jobs and revenue have fallen by more than 20 per cent.
Minister Kevin Greene says the restrictions are positive, with assault rates dropping at 25 out of 48 local venues.
Inner city residents’ spokesman Tony Brown claims the report has been deliberately leaked to coincide with final submissions on the Hamilton hotels late trading appeal.
