Lake Macquarie Private Hospital has unveiled plans for an emergency department.
Planned to open in March next year, the facility will also feature a chest pain unit, specialised sports medicine service and on-site radiology and pathology services.
“You don’t necessarily need private health insurance to come to the unit, but if you need to be admitted, you will need cover.”
It’s hoped the department will help relieve pressure on the John Hunter and Mater hospitals.
