Narrabri Shire Council has been declared a natural disaster area.
Consistent heavy falls this week have wreaked havoc on the region’s roads, racking up a damage bill of at least $2-million.
Dozens of rural roads in the southern part of the shire are closed, with Yarrie Lake overflowing after being dry for five years.
