New South Wales shoppers are expected to spend more than $3-billion over the next two weeks during the annual post-Christmas sales.
It started yesterday at David Jones in Newcastle, the only major Hunter department store allowed to trade on Boxing Day.
The other shopping centres threw their doors open today.
