“TORMENTED” MAN WAS LOOKING TO LEAVE

Friends of a Tweed Heads West man say he was going to sell up and move to escape constant torment from local youths.
Martin Grove took his life earlier this month.

I live in Tweed and had problems as well a while back. What a joke , if you read the Superintendants comments in the paper he says these youths have been given “counselling” as if that works? He also talks about how many juvenile offenders have been charged and how the Police will take action no matter what age, BUT he doesn’t say what the court penalties where ? – more counselling? or maybe some horrendous community service that they wouldn’t bother to turn up for.
In the Sunday Telegraph just after the write up on Martin there is an article on a special Undercover action force with all sorts of state of the art criminal activity detection gear specially formed for the detection of oyster thieves to protect oyster farmers.
Well good on them , Maritime services , farmers etc all got together to protect themselves.
It seems its OK for the law to go all out and assist oyster farmers with special night patrols and super sleuth equipment – nothing of the sort is available to protect the people of Tweed Heads.
We the elderly , aged and infirm of Tweed Heads deserve the same sort of support to protect us, plus a decent responsible court system to put these animals where they belong.
