CANE TOAD EDUCATION THROUGH FREE WORKSHOPS TO COMMENCE

To help prevent the infestations of cane toads, Local Land Services is running free workshops for people in the Hunter.
The workshops come after NBN News reported recent local sightings.
Last week, Minister for Agriculture, Adam Marshall, brought the issue to light, saying “cane toads are a serious biosecurity threat that can cause devastating impacts on communities, native wildlife, pets and ecosystems.”
The NSW Government is urging all residents to report the unwanted pests.
The first workshop will help people identify cane toads and how to safely handle them.
It will be held at Belmont North on the 5th of February.
