TAMWORTH HOST HOCKEY CHAMPS

The nation’s top hockey players have touched down in Tamworth ahead of the Australian Country Hockey Championships.
The mens and womens teams took to the pitch today for a training run, ahead of their opening clashes against Victoria tomorrow.
Both teams are reining premiers and expect tough competition from Queensland and Western Australia.
“we always do struggle with W.A, they are our nemesis, we always seem no matter what to get out there and it’s always a tough and physical game, so it’s going to be interesting this year, ” said retiring New South Wales Captain and Tamworth girl, Renae Alderidge.
More than 300 competitors and spectators have travelled to Tamworth for the week long event.
