ARMIDALE NURSES RALLY FOR BETTER RATIOS

Armidale’s branch of the Nurses and Midwives Association rallied today in support of minimum staffing ratios.

The branch is calling for the same conditions as its city counterparts.

“in the cities they’re seeing 6 hours per patient day where as In the country we’re seeing five hours per patient day. So it’s not a huge difference but it makes a big difference to the nurses working on the wards, and a huge difference for the patients.”

The state award expires next month.
