A woman has died, while another has suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash 50 kilometres east of Armidale.
Both were riding motorbikes on the Waterfall Way.
Police believe one of the women stopped to retrieve something from the road, when she was struck by the second rider, who was died at the scene.
The Westpac helicopter airlifted the other woman to Tamworth Hospital with serious leg injuries.
