Just after 2pm this afternoon, emergency services were called to Newcastle’s King Edward Park, amid reports a paraglider had crashed into the cliff.
Paramedics tried to help the 60-year-old man from Lake Macquarie – before a special casualty access team arrived.
Sadly, the man couldn’t be saved, his family was watching on as the terrible incident unfolded.
The victim is believed to have been an experienced pilot.
