FLOODING EASES ON NORTH COAST

Several hundred people still stranded by floodwater on the north coast are expected to have access to major centres by tomorrow.

At Darkwood, near Bellingen, around 200 people in the upper reaches of the valley are still cut off.

The SES says the roads and bridges in the area should be passable by tomorrow.

Lanes Bridge at Bowraville reopened to traffic this morning, but in the Nambucca Valley at Taylors Arm a number of bridges remain flooded.
