The price for lamb remains strong throughout the northwest, with heavy lambs fetching around $125 in Tamworth today.
In general, the cattle market remains steady, however prices for fatter stock have dropped because of increased numbers.
There could be a turnaround in coming months though with an expected shortage set to drive up prices.
” The south are getting short of fat cattle at the moment, given their terrible seasonal conditions down there. The north of course has been very wet and their numbers haven’t come forward yet so maybe a positive on a few less numbers through the winter months.”
