SUPERMARKET SPLURGE

Northern Inland shoppers have hit the supermarket aisles to help raise money for drought-affected farmers.

Woolworths stores were busy today, with all profits, an estimated $5-million, to go to families struggling on the land.

The money will be administered by the Country Women’s Association, says Woolomin branch manager, Vicki Mcdonald.

“So if you’ve got school fees and struggling because of the drought, school fees, electricity bills, things like that they the CWA will pay your bills for you.”

Last year more than $10-million was raised during the Backing Our Farmers Day, assisting more than 3,000 families.
