AUSTRALIAN SUPER X MARKS THE SPOT IN MAITLAND

There were just as many spills as thrills at Maitland last night, as the Australian Super X series rolled into town.
Several riders hit the deck in the Lites category, but the most spectacular effort went to the UK’s Steven Clarke, who ended up in hospital with a suspected broken wrist.
The main event also provided plenty of action.
Lawson Bopping proved consistency is the key, claiming second in all three races to take the round, while Wollongong’s Jay Marmont did enough to grab the overall lead in the series.
