Police are still searching for five men believed to have been responsible for assaulting a 26-year old man at Park Beach in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Its alleged the assault occurred at the intersection of Ocean Parade and Fitzgerald Street.
A witness has told police the man’s head struck the road when the attackers pushed him to the ground.
The victim sustained head and facial injuries and was airlifted to Royal North Shore hospital in Sydney where he remains.
Police say his condition is improving and they’re calling on anyone with information relating to the attack to come forward.
