The gate to Tamworth’s Marsupial Park will now be closed earlier, after a spate of break-ins.
While the park is open until just before 5pm, the security gate on Endeavour Drive isn’t usually locked until 6.30.
Following concerns from the Friends of Marsupial Park regarding recent cases of vandalism and the theft of animals, the gate will now close at five.
Council has applied for a $210,000 state grant to go towards an underground power supply, which will allow for surveillance cameras to be installed.
