A family in Wickham has woken to a nasty surprise, after a sinkhole caused by a water main break swallowed their car.
Residents on Albert Street woke to the sound of bubbling water early this morning – the force of the water, weakening the soil beneath the road.
The sinkhole then opened up just after 6 o’clock.
The break caused 38 homes to lose water.
