A West Tamworth medical centre will receive $100,000 in federal funds to provide an after hours doctor service.
The grant will allow patients to visit Peel Health Care after business hours.
It’s expected the move will alleviate pressure on Tamworth Hospital’s emergency department, where doctors often see patients who only require a GP.
Peel Health Care, currently in Bridge Street, will move to a new practice off Manilla Road in early June.
