A big band of rain has hit the mark delivering good falls of 50mm stretching from Tamworth to Narrabri, Barraba, Upper Horton to Moree.
It is the system the region needed so desperately.
The rain will clear form north eastern NSW and South East QLD by tomorrow.
A low will form off the south NSW coast and a blast of cold air will sweep through driving temperatures down.
Showers will return to the coast on Friday along with strong winds easing over the weekend.
