SES RESPOND TO SEVERAL INCIDENTS ACROSS THE FAR NORTH COAST

Wild weather has seen the SES respond to more than 30 calls for help across the Northern Rivers in the past 48 hours.

Ballina SES Unit Commander, Gerry Burnage, says most of the incidents related to leaking roofs and trees toppling in strong winds.

“It looks like we’re going to have some rain periods over the weekend possibly heavy showers with some thunderstorms. Nothing major in riverine flooding we don’t expect but could be some isolated areas with water across roads,” Mr Burnage said.

The Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled a severe thunderstorm warning for the region.

NBN News weatherman Gavin Morris tonight at six.
