HORNERY SACKED IN REES CLEANOUT

Wallsend MP, Sonia Hornery, has become a casualty of Nathan Rees’s cleanout, sacked as Parliamentary Secretary for Roads.

She was phoned on Monday afternoon by the premier, who told her she had opposed the government on too many issues.

Speaking at rally outside the Wallsend Aged Care facility Ms Hornery said, “I’m not a yes person of the ALP. I believe the most important role of any member is to stand-up for their constituents and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

Ms Hornery has opposed plans for the privatisation of the Wallsend Aged Care Facility, the state’s electricity assets and the Cessnock Gaol.
