Police say the 54-year-old was seriously assaulted inside a unit on Tamar Street, before he walked out and lost consciousness on Holden Lane.

A 50 year-old man was arrested in Cairns on Friday, before being taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

Yesterday, a 44-year-old woman was arrested in Ballina and charged with accessory to murder and contravening an AVO.
