The ribbon was cut this morning to kick off the Great Lakes Relay for Life.
As always, the first lap was a lap of honour, reserved for cancer survivors and their carers.
Teams have already raised more than $55,000 for the Cancer Council and organisers are hoping they can double that overnight.
All they’ll be putting in the hard yards, teams walking through the wee hours until the event finishes at 9am tomorrow.
