Wintersun boss Barry McNamara warns Coolangatta businesses risk looking “foolish” if they rush in to replace the rock n’ roll nostalgia event.
It comes as hundreds of concerned locals met, to plan for a new multi-million dollar festival.

BANDS, HOT RODS, DANCE CLUBS AND BUSINESSES HAVE OVERWHELMING SHOWN SUPPORT FOR THE 50/60’S EVENT FOR THE NEW EVENT. MORE CARS THAN EVER ARE EXPECTED BACK AT COOLANGATTA NEXT YEAR
Totally agree with James re Wintersun being more than just a name and committee – Coolangatta/Tweed is such an amazing venue/holiday for us as we have ventured from across the ditch (NZ) for the past 7 years to Wintersun caus we love the whole concept and will continue to do so every year no matter what its called or who’s running it !!

We and thousands of others spent a small fortune on accom., food dances , markets, and will return no matter what it is called. The festival is huge there waqs’nt a spare bed to be had the south side of surfers Paradise. Port Macquarie

maybe its time to do a follow up on this story. CoolyRocksOn made an audited profit over $70,000 last year and Wintersun Festival Inc had a receiver appointed, Rodgers Reidy and had a creditors meeting on 7th December 2012 and it doesnt look good for a number of bands and suppliers who havent been paid. Who is foolish now?
