The existing Pacific Highway could be given an indigenous name once the Warrell Creek to Urunga upgrade is completed.
Nambucca Shire Council will tonight vote on adopting the name ‘Giinagay Way’.
Giinagay is a welcome greeting in the local language.
Both Bellingen and Nambucca councils will need to approve the name, with the highway going through both areas.
