GOLD COAST KILLER RETURNS TO VICTORIA

Almost 14 years after Chevron Island teen Janaya Clarke was murdered in a frenzied knife attack, her killer will return to Victoria, to be closer to family.
Claude Gabriel’s parents applied for the move four years ago arguing it was vital to their son’s mental rehabilitation.
Gabriel stabbed Janaya 13 times in the neck and chest in 1998.
He never stood trial, and was committed to a Brisbane Mental institution.
Since then, he’s been allowed five-day-a-week release has studied at TAFE and fled the country to holiday with his wealthy parents.
Friends of Janaya say her family’s relieved Gabriel will be as far away as possible.
