Hundreds of white balloons are on display across Maitland and Newcastle’s Catholic schools, as the diocese takes part in National Child Protection Week.
It’s the second year the diocese has been involved in the campaign and follows its involvement in Newcastle’s Special Commission of inquiry into child sexual abuse allegations within the church.
