LENNOX HANDED PREMIER LEAGUE LIFELINE

Lennox Head Football Club’s been handed a lifeline. Despite finishing last this premier league season, the side won’t be relegated. 1st-placed reserve grade side Suffolk Park declined to trade places with Lennox – instead opting to focus on growing the club. “We understand there’s a little way to go before they can evolve to the level they need to be, with facilities and player depth.” Meanwhile, the premier league’s grand final race is also getting interesting. 3rd-placed Bangalow look dangerous, heading into their clash with minor premiers Goonellabah… While the Richmond Rovers and Byron Bay will battle to keep their finals hopes alive. GOONELLABAH EXTEND WINNING RUN

Goonellabah has defeated the neighbouring Alstonville 3-nil in round 14 of Football Far North Coast’s premier league. Closest rivals, Richmond Rovers, also enjoyed a win over Lennox Head… The Lismore Thistles slumped to a 5-nil loss in the local derby. Bangalow beat the Italo stars, and Casino couldn’t beat Byron Bay. The competition now takes a one week break.

TOP FFNC TEAMS SHOW THEIR CLASS

In Football Far North Coast’s 12th round, ladder leaders Goonellabah beat Lennox 5-nil. While their nearest rivals – the second placed Richmond Rovers – defeated the Italo Stars. Third-placed Byron Bay brushed aside the Lismore Thistles. Bangalow won its match against Lismore Workers, and Casino and Alstonville couldn’t be split.

LOPSIDED VICTORIES PUNCTUATE PREMIER LEAGUE 3RD ROUND

The Bangalow Bluedogs have taken a bite out of the Lismore Workers, 5-1 winners in round three  of Football Far North Coast’s premier league. The Lismore thistles, meanwhile, didn’t fare well in their match against Byron Bay… The Rams not conceding a single goal for the second week running. Elsewhere, the Casino Cobras defeated Villa FC in a close match while the Italo Stars proved no match for reigning premiers the Richmond Rovers, and Goonellabah comprehensively defeated Lennox Head.

LENNOX NO MATCH FOR BYRON IN PREMIER LEAGUE

Byron Bay has comprehensively defeated Lennox Head in round two of Football Far North Coast’s premier league. The Rams scored six goals, keeping their opposition scoreless throughout the match. Elsewhere, the Goonellabah Hornets and Bangalow Bluedogs enjoyed victories, while reigning premiers the Richmond Rovers downed Casino, and Lismore Workers proved too strong for Villa FC.

THISTLES, BYRON BAY AMONG WINNERS IN ANZAC CUP OPENER

First grade players have pulled on their boots for the first time this year, with the preseason Anzac Cup getting underway over the weekend. Regular season premiers, the Richmond Rovers, defeated Lismore Workers 4-2, while Casino went down to the Goonellabah Hornets and Alstonville defeated Lennox Head. A new look Lismore Thistles left Bangalow scoreless, while Byron Bay ensured it was a tough return from hiatus for the Italo Stars.
