MACY MISSES QUARTERS AT ROXY PRO

The Central Coast’s Macy Callaghan couldn’t repeat her heroics from Day One at the Roxy Pro. The Avoca teenager faced three-time World Champion Carissa Moore and Californian Lakey Peterson in the third round. And while Callaghan was looking fast and dynamic, mistakes proved costly… Despite finishing third, and missing the quarter-finals…her second appearance on the World Tour was one to savour, with her win over reigning event champ Stephanie Gilmore yesterday.

ANOTHER TITLE FOR RISING STAR MACY CALLAGHAN

North Shelly Boardrider Macy Callaghan has notched up yet another win, collecting the Female Rising Star accolade at the Australian Surfing Awards last night. I’m super honoured coming against some of my best friends who are also nominated which is awesome, you know they push me everyday and that’s the reason why I guess I’m here” The former junior world champ also took the time to honour someone very special to her. “My amazing mother who has sacrificed everything for me.” (Audio In Parts).

MACY CALLAGHAN NAMED WILDCARD IN ROXY PRO

Central Coast surfer Macy Callaghan has been confirmed as the wildcard replacement in the upcoming Roxy Pro, on the Gold Coast.   It comes after world number four Courtney Conlogue was ruled out with a foot injury. Callaghan finished the 2017 qualifying series in 10th position, narrowly missing out on a spot on the world tour. The 17-year-old will hit the water at Snapper Rocks on March 11. (VISION ONLY)

CALLAGHAN CONFIRMED AS ROXY PRO WILDCARD

Central Coast surfer Macy Callaghan has been confirmed as a wildcard replacement in the upcoming Roxy Pro, on the Gold Coast. It comes after world number four Courtney Conlogue was ruled out with a foot injury sustained while preparing for the season opening event. Callaghan finished the 2017 qualifying series in 10th position, narrowly missing out on a spot on the world tour. The event kicks off at Snapper Rocks on March 11.

CALLAGHAN SECURES ROUND FOUR SPOT AT SYDNEY PRO

Macy Callaghan has advanced to the fourth round of the Sydney Pro in Manly. The Avoca star started the heat well, collecting a solid 7.33 on her first wave. Ultimately, her two-wave total of 11.90 proved enough. Fellow Central Coast surfer Kirra-Belle Olsson is still to compete, and will hit the water at Manly Beach tomorrow.

CALLAGHAN’S FLYING START AT JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPS

It was a great day in the water for Central Coast surfers at the World Junior Championships in Kiama. Avoca’s Sandon Whittaker got off to a strong start, finding points despite the difficult conditions. Meanwhile Macy Callaghan took a commanding lead, with the best heat combination score of the day – out of both the men’s and women’s. The defending champion finishing up with an impressive 17.50.
