LENNOX HANDED PREMIER LEAGUE LIFELINE

Lennox Head Football Club’s been handed a lifeline. Despite finishing last this premier league season, the side won’t be relegated. 1st-placed reserve grade side Suffolk Park declined to trade places with Lennox – instead opting to focus on growing the club. “We understand there’s a little way to go before they can evolve to the level they need to be, with facilities and player depth.” Meanwhile, the premier league’s grand final race is also getting interesting. 3rd-placed Bangalow look dangerous, heading into their clash with minor premiers Goonellabah… While the Richmond Rovers and Byron Bay will battle to keep their finals hopes alive. GOONELLABAH EXTEND WINNING RUN

Goonellabah has defeated the neighbouring Alstonville 3-nil in round 14 of Football Far North Coast’s premier league. Closest rivals, Richmond Rovers, also enjoyed a win over Lennox Head… The Lismore Thistles slumped to a 5-nil loss in the local derby. Bangalow beat the Italo stars, and Casino couldn’t beat Byron Bay. The competition now takes a one week break.
