COAST PAIR SENT PACKING IN PORTUGAL

Both Central Coast surfers were knocked out in Round Three in Portugal. World number five Matt Wilkinson fell to Italian Leo Fioravanti. WILKO AND BUCHAN BOTH OUT IN FRANCE

Matt Wilkinson’s poor tour performance continued overnight, bowing out of the Quicksilver Pro in Round Three. His top score a 7 point 7, but a broken board at the end of the heat lost him critical time. This is the third finish at 25th place for Wilkinson…his world title contention slipping further out of reach. Meanwhile, Avoca’s Adrian Buchan was also knocked out in Round Three, losing his lead in the final minute. (NO AUDIO)

BUCHAN AND WILKO THROUGH TO TAHITI ROUND 4

The Central Coast’s Matt Wilkinson and Adrian Buchan have both cruised through to the fourth round of Billabong Pro in Tahiti. It wasn’t easy going for Buchan who came up against countryman Mick Fanning. The Gold Coast local pulled off an incredible 9.83 on a monster wave. But not to be outdone, Buchan hit back with a pair of 8s for a total score of 16.70. In the earlier heat, Wilkinson wasn’t at his best facing Ethan Ewing, but did enough. A respectable 7.10 on his first wave saved him in the rough conditions… he moves onto the next round with a final score of 11.57. (no audio)
