GAV’S WEATHER: VARIABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE REGION

We’re back to being a very clear nation. It’s sunny, hot and largely dry. The south west corner of Western Australia saw the arrival of another system delivering more rain and cloud. As the latest front passes over the local region hot north west winds will be replaced with cooler southerly winds on the coast. Cloud engulfed the Greater Hunter to the Mid North Coast as the change moved through with South East winds east of the Divide. And north west winds on the western side. So cool and cloudy for the coast and hot and and mostly sunny with afternoon storms for the north west and northern New South Wales ranges.

GAV’S WEATHER: COLD CHANGE ON THE WAY

It will remain fine and hot ahead of a cold change, which is expected to hit Newcastle in the early hours of Wednesday. As the front passes over the south east, we can expect to see an increased north westerly airflow in the state’s north. Winds around the Hunter & Central Coast will tend from the south, making for a cool, cloudy day. There will be limited shower activity for the coast, with storm activity most likely across the north west.

GAV’S WEATHER: WARM TUESDAY ON THE WAY

We’re all of a sudden back to being a very clear nation, with another fine, sunny, and warm day tomorrow. The winds will start from the north west before tending to the north east in the afternoon. The clear skies the result of a front moving over the Bight, creating a strong north westerly airflow across the inland.

STORMS LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF NEW SOUTH WALES

Storm activity is set to increase across Northern New South Wales this afternoon, with the Bureau of Meteorology reminding people to be aware during severe weather. Large hailstones, heavy rainfall, and damaging winds are likely across much of the state, with a trough colliding with an already humid airmass. A warning is currently in place for the central west of the state, including parts of the North West Slopes and Plains and Hunter regions. Snap a photo of the wild weather? GAV’S WEATHER: MORE RAIN ON THE WAY

Inland, the frontal system is delivering valuable rain tonight with more to come tomorrow. Eastern Australia has plenty of cloud over it with some isolated showers, while the western half of the country is sunny and dry. Onshore winds will continue, causing more showers for the coast while pumping in increased moisture. Tomorrow should also see more rain fall across the eastern half of NSW. The system will move across the western slopes onto the Great Divide producing some good follow up rain. The front will tap into the moisture building up over the east of the country. So, another cloudy day is on the way with increased storm activity, rain periods and showers spilling across the majority of the region.

GAV’S WEATHER: INLAND RAIN ON THE WAY

Inland New South Wales there is a system that should deliver valuable rain tomorrow. Eastern Australia has plenty of cloud over it while the western half of the country is sunny and dry. Onshore winds will continue causing more showers for most coastal areas. Tomorrow should also see more rain fall across western New South Wales. That system will reach the western slopes of the Great Divide on Wednesday producing some okay follow up rain in the coming days. A warm day is on the way with inland storms developing while the showers continue along the northern New South Wales and South East Queensland coasts.
