GAV’S WEATHER: HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY

A coastal rain event is now developing, and will deliver heavy rain to areas of the New South Wales coast. The area under fire will stretch from the Central Coast to the Coffs Coast, while heavy flooding rain may affect areas from Newcastle to Port Macquarie with the Manning Valley under major threat. Onshore winds will develop becoming very strong by Wednesday, while the rain is expected to set in tomorrow afternoon and last a few days. Moving inland and the weather will remain mostly fine, as the danger area centres around the Mid North Coast.

GAV’S SURF: BEACH WEEKEND

It’s looking really nice for a surf, with some left over swell and the winds tending offshore in the mornings, before the sea breeze kicks in during the afternoon. The temperature is also on the increase and with the water still warm, it’s set to be a great weekend for the beach.

GAV’S WEATHER: SUMMER SET TO RETURN

It remains almost a cloudless nation, outside of a band sweeping in over Southern Australia. A strong front in the southern ocean is also on the approach. Hot North West winds will begin to form, making for a hot start to the weekend before it continues to warm into Sunday. The front is expected to come through next week, and will drop temperatures significantly.

GAV’S WEATHER: SUMMER LIKE WEATHER RETURNING

It remains an almost cloudless nation a part from the cloud band sweeping in over the south west and along southern Australia. The subtropical low is now weakening further while moving away from the coast. Plenty of swell will continue along the northern New South Wales and south east Queensland coasts. There’s a weak southerly for the Central Coast and Hunter early Friday morning. The hot air will remain over the Upper Hunter and south east Queensland. It’s getting hot inland and remaining mostly sunny. Light to moderate onshore south east winds for the coast with partly cloudy skies.

GAV’S WEATHER: EX-CYCLONE LINDA TO REMAIN WELL OFFSHORE

Ex-Cyclone Linda to remain well offshore. The short lived cyclone is already back down to a subtropical low. The low will move in close to the Queensland coast before moving back out to sea. The south east corner of Queensland will experience strong winds and huge swell with showers before moving away from the coast. A part from a few small showers over the Gold Coast and north east New South Wales it will be a fine day. A hot and and sunny day is expected inland and across the North West, Greater Hunter to the Mid North Coast.

GAV’S WEATHER: WILD WEATHER FOR SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND

The latest monsoon low will move south in the Coral Sea, generating more swell. This will be an intense low, that will skim right in along the South East corner of Queensland, causing strong winds, huge swell and heavy rain. It will also affect the Northern Rivers. Winds will pick up further between the Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour generating increased shower activity, while the swell will also increase. It will remain mostly fine south of Coffs Harbour with the risk of showers small, while it will remain hot away from the coast.

GAV’S WEATHER: CURRENT CONDITIONS TO CONTINUE

QLD’s Gulf Country will still continue to be awash with rain as the system finally begins to weaken over the weekend, while moist onshore winds along the east coast will continue. Tropical Cyclone Hola will move south clipping Numea. Showers will linger along the coast, with another day of very similar conditions expected as the onshore SE winds continue to blow causing partly cloudy skies east of the divide while it will remain all fine and warm on the western side.
