GAV’S WEATHER: AUSTRALIA DAY LONG WEEKEND FORECAST

The trough in the south east is producing plenty of cloud with showers and storms set to spread our way this weekend. Eastern Australia is still extremely hot but some rain is now on the way. The trough remains stalled but will help flare up showers and storms, mostly on on near the ranges and across the NW so be prepared if you plan to enjoy Australia day out doors. Hot inland with afternoon storms on the ranges. Once again the coast will be cooled by onshore seabreezes while remaining fine.

GAV’S WEATHER – RAIN ON THE WAY

Eastern Australia is still extremely hot but some rain is now on the way. The trough remains stalled but will help flare up a few showers and storms, mostly on or near the northern New South Wales ranges. Another hot night followed by another summer scorcher, this time with widespread afternoon shower and storm development. Mostly fine for the coast with north easterly winds.

GAV’S WEATHER – HOT WEATHER CONTINUES

There’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north as multiple tropical storms continue to flare up. The trough in the south is producing plenty of cloud but little rain. Eastern Australia continues is extremely long hot run. The trough remains stalled but will help flare up a few showers and storms, mostly on on near the ranges. This activity will increase as we move towards the weekend. Remaining hot and mostly sunny with north-west to north-east winds.

GAV’S WEATHER – HEATWAVE CONTINUES

The satellite shows there’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north, as multiple tropical storms continue to flare up. The trough in the south is producing plenty of cloud but little rain. Eastern Australia continues its extremely long hot run. Another scorcher is on the way with afternoon sea-breezes fanning the coastal fringe. This trend will continue over the next few days.

Some swell is going to hang in there for the weekend and along the North Coast into southern QLD. The winds will be out of the south-east, so the point breaks will still be happening, especially in the morning leading up to the high tide. South of Seals, the winds will be out of the north-east so you’ll have to hit the northern corners. Also get the morning session in before those winds get too strong.

GAV’S WEATHER: EXTREMELY HOT AND DRY

The low in the Tasman is still going to maintain some strength. All of the wet weather will come down in the north and the west. Eastern Australia is in for an extremely long, hot run. Hot and dry across the region with the Upper Hunter and NW in for consecutive 40 degree days. Onshore breezes will help cool the coastal communities mostly reaching the low to mid 30s.

GAV’S WEATHER: COOL BREAK OVER

There’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north and west as multiple tropical storms have flared up. The low over the Tasman is still generating swell as it moves off the east coast. The biggest low of the year in the Tasman is now ready to move on. The southerly winds will ease. A fine mostly sunny day for all with light variable winds allowing the temperatures to soar in the coming days.

GAV’S WEATHER – STRONG SOUTHERLY MONSTER SWELL SET TO EASE

There’s a lot of cloud making its way across WA as the remnants of Ex-Cyclone Joyce continue to dump heavy falls there. The low over the Tasman is still generating cloud which is affecting parts of the east coast. The biggest low of the year in the Tasman is still generating plenty of swell. The southerly winds will keep temperatures down for another day but they will begin to ease from tomorrow along with the monster swell. Mostly sunny skies will settle in as the heat gets ready to return.
