LANGFORD ON THE BRINK OF LEG 8 VICTORY

NEWCASTLE NORTHSTARS GRAB THEIR FIRST WIN OF 2018

It was a mixed weekend for the Newcastle Northstars.. they suffered an 8-3 loss to Canberra on Saturday, before scoring their first win this season last night. The visitors made a great start at Warners Bay. “He’s going to drive towards the net, he does, takes in close, scores, Bobby Oar move that one, end to end and the Ice Dogs are up one nil.” But a double to Patrick Nadin handed Newcastle the advantage by the end of the first period. “There’s another goal for the boy from Lake Macquarie.” The two sides traded goals, ending up three-all at fulltime…Before the Northstars prevailed in the shootout.

BLACK VOWS TO BOUNCE BACK

Terrene Black was home from the US for just 24 hours, and has now departed for the next stop on the Paddle League World Tour. After a strong start, the Central Coast Lifeguard was disappointed with her seventh place in the Carolina Cup and has vowed to bounce back in Okinawa, Japan this weekend.

HUGH MAKES HUGE IMPACT AGAINST TONGA

The Central Coast’s Hugh Margin has played a key role in the Junior Wallabies opening victories at the Under-20 Oceania tournament on the Gold Coast. The Australian’s scored a staggering 15 tries to outclass Tonga 91 to 7, with Margin in the number four jumper making 17 tackles. Their next opponent will be far more formidable – World Junior Champions New Zealand tomorrow night. (Audio in parts)
