DONATIONS CONTINUE TO POUR INTO THE NORTH WEST

The support continues to flow in to the North West from further afield to support our farmers… Sisters from south of Sydney, Naomi and Fiona Bennett, have delivered more than $1500 worth of groceries to Tamworth as part of the ‘Doing It For Our Farmers ‘ appeal. They say the message is breaking regional boundaries into the city, and people genuinely want to help. “So this started with the donation of some shampoo and conditioner and sugar and salt and all those things, to okay now we understand what’s happening, we need to be able to do something.” Also a chance to teach the little ones about where their food comes from. “We showed Imogen about the grass and the places we went through that didn’t have grass and she was concerned that, how would the animals eat…you know, that’s …

SCAMMERS TARGET GUNNEDAH RESIDENTS

Two weeks after Gunnedah switched over to the National Broadband Network, scammers are already taking advantage. Residents have reported calls from people claiming to represent the company, asking for personal information. The National Broadband Network says it will never make unsolicited calls and is reminding customers they have 18-months to make the switch. If you think you’ve received a scam call, you can report it to the ACCC. NOTE: VISION ONLY

NINE, ROTARY AND NATIONAL FARMERS TEAM UP FOR DROUGHT RELIEF

The Nine Network is proud to announce its 20-18 Drought Relief Fund, in partnership with Rotary and the National Farmers Federation. Speaking on the Today Show, NFF President Fiona Simson says people want to know 100-percent of their donations are going to the farmers. She says they’re currently assessing which charity or charities the new appeal will support. “We thought that by coming on board with Channel Nine and Rotary, that would give a really great avenue to be able to distribute that money exactly where it’s needed.” And the Today Show’s Georgie Gardner and Karl Stefanovic will be in the region on Monday morning.
