MAN KILLED IN HORROR NEW YEARS DAY CRASH AT CASINO

One man has died, while two others remain in hospital, after a single vehicle crash at Casino in the state’s Northern Rivers. A man has been killed in a horror crash as car catches fire near Casino at 2:45am this morning. The car rolled, trapping 2 of 3 occupants. Due to the flames police were unable to pull the man believed to be in his 20s from the wreckage. Meanwhile in Lismore, hundreds of “tropical fruit revellers” strutted their stuff through the CBD yesterday, signalling the start of celebrations for their New Year’s Eve event, ‘Shine.’ Each year, festival-goers wear heels, makeup and sequinned costumes to take part in the street party. MAN FOUND DEAD ALONGSIDE RICHMOND RIVER

A man has died in what looks to be a freak accident on the state’s North Coast on Saturday night. Police were called to River Street, near the Ballina RSL Club, at around 11pm following reports of a possible drowning. They found a man, believed to be in his 50s, deceased on the rocks beside the Richmond River. He is yet to be formally identified. BREAKING: A man has died in #Ballina after falling into the Richmond River at low tide overnight. Police are currently investigating. WOMAN INJURED IN NORTH COAST HORSE FALL

A 40-year-old woman has been flown to hospital, after she fell from a horse on the state’s far north coast. Emergency services including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were called to Cabarita Beach on Saturday morning. Initial reports suggest the woman suffered neck and chest injuries in the fall. She was taken to the nearby Les Burger Field, before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital.
