DRAMATIC CCTV OF ALLEGED HOME INVASION AT MULLUMBIMBY

Police have released dramatic CCTV vision of a group of people allegedly involved in a home invasion in the state’s north, in the hopes of locating two of the men. The vision shows the trio outside a home on Poplar Street at Mullumbimby on February 11. It’s alleged they entered the property armed with handguns, a rifle and a sword and threatened those inside. A 23-year-old man was arrested in the week following the incident, however police are yet to locate the other two men. Both are described as being of Caucasion appearance, around 175cm tall and aged in their 20s with a medium build. One of the men has a tattoo on his lower left leg, while the other has a tattoo on his chest. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

CAUSE OF LISMORE FIRE YET TO BE DETERMINED

The cause of a fire which destroyed a popular wedding venue in Lismore has yet to be determined. Firefighters were called to Rous Road just after 3pm yesterday, to find the property fully engulfed. Crews brought the blaze under control a short time later, but the damage bill is expected to run into hundreds of thousands of dollars. Police aren’t treating the incident as suspicious.

MAN HIT BY CAR ON THE FAR NORTH COAST

A man believed to be in his 30s has been flown to hospital, after being struck by a car on the state’s far north coast. Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Sleepy Hollow, at around 10 o’clock last night, following reports a man walking along the road had been hit by a passing car. He was treated by paramedics on scene, before being flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition. The female driver of the car was uninjured.
