150 students from Catholic schools between Port Macquarie and the Tweed were in Woolgoolga today for the annual Surf League Carnival. The event is designed to increase participation in surf lifesaving and volunteering.

AXEMEN OUT OF RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIPS

It’s now official, the mid north coast’s Axemen are out of the 2009 Country Rugby Union Championships. The decision to pull out of the competition has been blamed on the early start of representative games which begin next February. Mid north coast rugby clubs have struggled to field teams with many of their players involved in cricket and surf club commitments.
