MORE UPGRADES TO KENDALL’S TENNIS CLUB

It’s one of the most successful sporting organisations in the region, but as it continues to expand, the cost of running Kendall Tennis Club is rising. Today the federal government provided some relief, with $6,000 in funding towards the installation of a new solar power system. Club President Wendy Hudson has welcomed the grant, and says it will help reduce the cost of electricity which has more than doubled in the past four years. (VISION ONLY – NO AUDIO)

LIBBY MAGANN WINS GOLD WITH AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY AT PRINCESS CHULABHORN CUP

Tamworth water polo player, Libby Magann has played a starring role in the final of the Princess Chulabhorn Cup in Bangkok. The Australian Country women’s team wrapping-up another gold medal, beating CAC Thailand 10 goals to eight. Magann scored four of the Aussie goals in the decider, with the team progressing through the pool games with relative ease. The Aussies advanced to the grand final with a 10-3 win over Hong Kong in the semi-final. PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO UNAVAILABLE.

TAREE UNITED BATTED TO VICTORY OVER PORT MACQUARIE ROVERS

To Mid North Coast Premier League Cricket and Taree United defeated the Port Macquarie Rovers on home soil at Chatham Park, yesterday. Rovers won the toss and elected to bat, finishing their innings at 9 for 181. That wouldn’t be enough against a competitive United side, that scored 182 for the loss of just three wickets.
