VALLA FATHER AND SON ON DRUGS CHARGES

A father and son duo, both bearing the same name, from Valla, near Nambucca Heads, have been remanded in custody after they appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court today charged with numerous drug offences. 58-year-old Peter Thomas Mackney and 40-year-old Peter Thomas Mackney were arrested after a raid on a Valla property yesterday. Police allege the pair was in possession of a large amount of cash and numerous bags of cannabis with an estimated street value of $100,000. The men are due to appear in Macksville Local Court on the 11th of December.

Banana growers on the mid north coast say disease risks from imported fruit threaten the viability of the Australian industry. A new report from Biosecurity Australia is proposing banana imports be allowed under tight quarantine conditions.

Because surfing is a reaction to a moving mound of water, each of us adapts our body shape and movement in a individual way. Just like dancers on the dance floor, each reacting a little different to the beat of a song, a surfer can be clearly identifyied amongst a group in the water simply by style alone. JETTY BEACH IS THE CLEANEST

Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Beach has been declared the north coast regional winner of the Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beach Challenge. The program recognises and rewards coastal communities for initiatives that enhance, protect and preserve the New South Wales coastline. Jetty Beach was judged the best on the north coast for its range of amenities including its bush regeneration work which has been carried out by volunteers. Sawtell Beach received a highly commended award for its facilities and cleanliness.
