CHARGES FOLLOW GOLD COAST ASSAULT AND ROBBERY

Two people have been charged after a robbery on the Gold Coast earlier this week. Around 10:30pm on Thursday, two men allegedly assaulted another man on Anaheim Drive in Helensvale, stealing his debit card. Police alledge a woman who was with the two men also stole the man’s car and fled the scene. The two men then fled the scene in another vehicle. The victim, a 33-year-old man from Upper Caboolture, was taken to hospital with suspected internal injuries. Following investigations, police took two people into custody at a Helensvale address this morning. A 19-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man both from Helensvale, who have since been charged with a number of offences in relation to the incident. Both are due to appear in court tomorrow, June 27. Investigations continue.

PAIR THREATENED AND ROBBED BY A GANG ON TH GOLD COAST

Two men have been set upon and robbed by a gang on the Gold Coast last night. Shortly before 10pm, the men aged 20 and 21 were walking along Pitcairn Way at Pacific Pines with two teenage girls, when they were approached by a group of approximately 8 men. The group threatened the 21-year-old with a broken bottle, and demanded he hand over his mobile phone. The victim threw his phone to the ground before being punched and kicked. The 20-year-old man then had his wallet taken from him, before also being punched in the face. The two teenage girls fled the scene during the incident. The group of men were last seen walking towards Hatutu Street. One of the men is described as Caucasian and was wearing a white hooded jumper. The others are described as being of Pacific …

TAXI DRIVER ROBBED AND PUSHED FROM VEHICLE ON THE GOLD COAST

A man from NSW has been charged following a violent robbery on the Gold Coast on Friday. Around 2:30pm yesterday, a man entered a taxi on Wardoo Street in Southport, before allegedly assaulting the driver on Nerang-Broadbeach Road in Carrara. Police then say he then forced the driver out, and drove off in the taxi. The vehicle was later found at a licensed premises in Canungra, where a 32-year-old man was taken into custody. He was later charged with robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing and wilful damage The 27-year-old taxi driver was not injured.
