MAN REFUSED BAIL ON DRUG AND FIREARMS CHARGES

A 27-year-old Central Coast man has faced Wyong Local Court on 16 drug and firearm charges. Police allege Dylan Howarth had cannabis and a large amount of money in his possession when he was stopped on Tuggerawong Road. A further search of his home allegedly uncovered firearms, amphetamines and ecstasy tablets. Howarth was refused bail and to appear in Wyong Local Court again on October the 8th.

LIFELINE CHARITY STORE APPEALS FOR ITS OWN LIFELINE

Charity group Lifeline is still without a store, a week after its Wyong premises of 15 years, the historic Uniting Church, was destroyed by fire. More than $40,000 worth of stock was lost, as well as most of the store’s cash. CEO Lesley West has made a plea for community support, saying it’s now the charity, which needs a lifeline.

The wet weather may have made play difficult, but it didn’t stop emergency services from taking part in a charity rugby league day. Fire, police and ambulance crews from around the state joined forces to raise funds for Gosford Hospital’s children’s ward and Westmead Children’s Hospital.

CUBBY HOUSE KIDS

There’s some good news with the mystery of the three missing children in Maitland solved. The youngsters, reported to be living in a skip bin, have been identified by DoCS, which says they were not sleeping there but using it as a cubbyhouse. DoCS case workers are assessing if there are any ongoing concerns about the welfare of the children but say they had simply been playing in the area.
