ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR TUMBI CREEK ROAD

The upgrade project on Tumbi Creek Road has received an additional cash boost of $1.75 million. The money will go towards a new footpath, to improve pedestrian and cyclist access between the Gregory Street roundabout and the Wyong Road intersection. The upgrade is expected to be finished by the end of the year. (No audio)

POLICE INVESTIGATE SEXUAL ASSAULT AT THE ENTRANCE

Police investigating the sexual assault of a man on the Central Coast have released an image of a vehicle, believed to be a similar make and model of a getaway car. Around 1am on February 24, a 22-year-old man left a hotel on the Entrance Road, at The Entrance, and walked to a park on Marine Parade. When there, the man was pushed to the ground by another man and sexually assaulted. A 21-year-old woman came to his aid and a scuffle ensued. The alleged offender fled the scene with another man in a silver Holden Commodore sedan. Police are also wanting to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. He’s described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his late 20s, between 175-178cms tall, with short black hair.

MAN STABBED AT LONG JETTY

A man is in a critical condition, after being stabbed several times in the chest last night at Long Jetty. The frenzied attack occurred at around 7.30pm, after a fight broke out between two housemates at a home on Toowoon Bay Road. A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene and refused bail in Wyong Local Court today. He’ll appear in court again on September 4, via video link.
