Skaie Hull is a News and Sports Reporter based on the Central Coast. Prior to joining the NBN team in March 2016, Skaie worked as a reporter for Seven Local News in Queensland and was also PR & Media Advisor for YMCA NSW and TAFE NSW. She attended the University of the Sunshine Coast where she majored in Journalism and Public Relations.

DINO DUO ESCAPE AUSTRALIAN REPTILE PARK

There were unusual scenes at Bondi Beach this morning, as a pair of prehistoric reptiles roamed free. The Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor “escaped” from the Central Coast’s Australian Reptile Park and briefly took over the popular tourist destination. They were fearsome, but also good-natured – at one point, helping Bondi lifeguards patrol the beach. They’ve since been captured and will be returned safely to the wildlife sanctuary. (VISION ONLY)

SYDNEY ROOSTERS AND CRL JOIN FORCES

The Sydney Roosters have announced a new long-term partnership with Country Rugby League on the Central Coast. As part of the deal, the club is promising a first-class training facility at Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, including field upgrades and a new gym. “With this facility I guess you can call it a mini centre of excellence that we’re building here will not only benefit the junior population of the Central Coast but the highschool itself into growing into a sports school as well. ” – Terry Quinn- CEO Country Rugby League The aim of the partnership is to ensure a pathway to the NRL for thousands of junior players. “What we want to do is for the kids to actually stay here through their schooling years, play locally on the Central Coast for the Central Coast representative sides and then …

NEW RESCUE DRONES TO BE DEPLOYED ON THE CENTRAL COAST

The Central Coast will soon receive three Westpac rescue drones as part of the first national approach to surf rescue using the innovative technology. By giving surf lifesavers more eyes in the sky, it’s hoped they can spot rips and distressed swimmers, responding to those in need sooner. In future, there will also be the potential to drop buoyancy devices to assist swimmers until help arrives. The drones will be deployed at Avoca, North Avoca and Terrigal beaches this summer. POLICE SEEK HELP TO IDENTIFY THIS WOMAN

Brisbane Water Police are asking for the community’s help, as it investigates two thefts at an Erina shopping centre last month. CCTV images have been released of a woman who walks into a store, before taking items and walking out without paying on November 17 and 20. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers. SENTENCING DELAYED FOR COAST COUPLE WHO IMPORTED PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS

A Central Coast couple who trafficked performance-enhancing drugs will have to wait another four months to be sentenced. Self-described “gym junkies” Nateesha Barlin and Dylan Shaw were expected to be sentenced today for their part in a large scale performance enhancing drug operation in 2016 But new charges have been laid after police allegedly found a large commercial quantity of drugs and $179,000 cash in Mr Shaw’s car in July. Shaw remains behind bars while Barlin is on strict bail. Both will be sentenced in April. (VISION ONLY IN PARTS)

MILLION DOLLAR CLUBHOUSE FACILITY TO BE BUILT FOR AVOCA KAYAKERS

The Avoca Kayak Club will no longer have to operate out of the back of a trailer, thanks to more than $1-million from Central Coast Council and the state government. The money will go towards a new clubhouse and boat storage facility, benefitting the club’s 75-plus members, including Olympians Lachlan Tame and Riley Fitzsimmons. The facility will replace the existing amenities block at Avoca’s Heazlett Park and work will begin in April. (VISION ONLY)
