TCHAU TCHAU FERREIRA – FABIO SAILS AWAY FROM THE MARINERS

The Mariners have only just bowed out of the A-League comp for this year and have already suffered another blow, with Fabio Ferreira today confirming he will not be extending his contract with the Central Coast club beyond this season. The Mariners say the 27-year-old will be joining an unnamed overseas club. Famous for his flamboyance and spectacular goals, the Portuguese attacker left Adelaide United to link with the yellow and navy in 2015, making a 105 A-League appearances during his time with both clubs. CENTRAL COAST WATER POLO TRIO MAKE A NATIONAL SPLASH

The Central Coast’s Nicole Chaney is one of three water polo athletes named in the under-18 Australian squad, following the National Championships in Perth. Corey Allan was also selected, after numerous standout performances for the University of New South Wales. Central Coast Grammar student Ethan Moore, who also plays with UNSW, secured a place in the squad after scoring five goals, in the Magpies 11-three victory over the Sunshine Coast. All three came away with medals, and remain in WA for a week of high performance training.

GLENWORTH GETS READY FOR EXECUTIVE SLEEP OUT

The annual and very popular corporate Sleepout is changing its outdoor venue this year. Formerly held at the Australian Reptile Park, and known as the Zoo and Snooze, this year’s famous sleep out will be held at Glenworth Valley. Now titled, The Million Star Executive Sleepout, the charity fundraiser is run by Coast Shelter and is designed to give high-end execs a taste of a sleep-out in the cold night. Registration is now open for the August run event.

URGENT BLOOD DONATIONS NEEDED FOR EASTER LONG WEEKEND

The Red Cross is urgently calling out for donors ahead of the Easter long weekend. Nation wide, 1000 people need to donate to prevent a shortage over the holiday period. The Gosford blood bank is currently short by 20 donations for specifically the Easter Monday. Certain blood banks around the state will open additional days during the Easter weekend in hope of increasing supplies.
