12 months on from a tragic car accident in Old Bar, Abbey Stephens is still being recognised. A child care centre in Wingham has opened up “Abbey Lane”, in memory of their admired carer and colleague.  

Eleanor Spence has been chosen as the Greens’ candidate for Myall Lakes at the upcoming state election. Ms Spence, a Wingham resident who works as a nurse at the Manning Hospital, says she’s committed to ensuring the community has access to quality public health and education. A mystery greeted officers yesterday when they found a recently-crashed car with nobody inside north of Port Macquarie. It appears the driver has lost control of the vehicle sometime earlier in the day, with it running off Maria River Road and sustaining serious damage. However no sign could be found of any occupants, and it’s presumed no one suffered major injuries. (VISION ONLY)
